I am the Men’s and Women’s Head Water Polo Coach at Vanguard University of Southern California, Boys
and Girls Head Water Polo Coach at Northwood High School.  I coach for Northwood Water Polo Club and
in 2008 I began a year around swim school based out of Irvine called Woodbury Aquatics.
My aquatic experience began at the early age of seven with Irvine Novaquatics. I was coached by greats
including Lydia Abishier, Mindy Dougherty, Ed French, Ken Lamont, Dave Saelo and Flip Darr.  I was a
four year lettermen, at Irvine High School, and qualified for CIF by the time I was a sophomore. I
also earned my junior national time standards for the 200yd BREASTROKE.
I began playing water polo as a sophmore (I was a true swimmer and chose not to play as a freshmen.
Ironically, the year I began playing water polo I qualified for swimming CIF) and was a two-year
varsity letter winner at Irvine High School playing under Scott Hinman, Greg Gray, Matt Cambell, and
Bob Venable.  After I graduated, I attended Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, where I was coached
by legendary head coach Flip Darr, along with co-head coach Mike Santos and Larry Larsen.  I was in
the top 10 for scoring, assists, and steals for the state of California.  I also rank 3rd among all
dual season scorers in Saddleback water polo history.
I then attended Chapman University with Coach Dennis Ploessel, and was made team captain during summer
training of '97.  I dropped out 2 weeks into the school year because of financial difficulty.  I then
attended Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana for a semester and focused on studying music.
I then traveled to Argentina and played for Club Belgrano (Amatuer) as well as training with the
Argentinian JR National Team. I played two seasons in Argentina before coming back to the US to accept
a coaching position.  I was the assistant coach for Water Polo and Swimming at Woodbridge High School
under Alex Abishier and Tom Norton, for three years, and later became the head coach for two years. In
2008 I played on the North Irvine Premier League Division II, and placed 5th in the Masters Nationals
USA Water Polo under 40.
In the Fall of 2008 I decided to go back to school at Concordia University to complete my degree and
to my surprise discovered that through NAIA collegiate rules I had remaining eligability.  So I
returned to college play in 2008 for the Concordia University Irvine Water Polo Team as
Player/Assistant coach.
In January of 2010, I was hired as the Vanguard University of Southern California Head Men's and
Women's Water Polo Coach.  It is a start up program that will be ready to compete Fall 2010.
In March of 2010 I was selected to the Ecuadorian National Water Polo Team to compete in the South
American Games held in Medillin, Colombia.  He was the high scorer for the Ecuador Team with a total
of 12 goals in 6 games.
